Great versatile serving plates

These are perfect to serve sandwiches, muffins, salads - even omelets. Just the right length and width and very pretty. One thing I did notice is that compared to my 30 year old Bennington plates these seem to be thinner and lighter in weight. Doesn't affect the usage and I am probably the only one who notices.

Have the round plates and quite happy with them. Bought one of the oval plates. Loved it so much bought 6 more, half white on white, 1/2 blue and white. Use them multiple times a day...breakfast, lunch etc.

I have several old Bennington oval plates in discontinued glazes. I've used them for almost daily. They are more versatile than round smallish plates, as you can easily put a cup or bowl at one end for soup, beverage or small salad, while foods at the other end are not contaminated. They are also perfect for omelets, burritos and such. I decided to buy new ones in the green and black agate glaze.

I had originally bought this plate to hold my hamburger toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, etc. But I found that it is the perfect size for corn on the cob. Love this plate.

Every item I purchased is a delight to me, and there are over 50 items in my cupboard, and I use them daily. I like them all, and it's difficult to choose one, but the large tavern platter is outstanding, and I use it for many meals.

I recently broke my original oval plate and was distressed I use this little plate for many things. Obviously a cup and some cookies, or soup mug and crackers, but mostly I love that it holds the slices of a small ham or roast. This is exactly the right size for my table when it is just my husband and I.

I've always thought the blue agate finish was beautiful.

I love this plate. I use it to serve cheese, olives, vegetables for parties . I purchased one a few years ago, at Thanksgiving I dropped it and it broke. I just had to have another one and ordered the next day. The same story for the dinner plate I purchased on the same order. Love all my Bennington pieces!! Also the shipping is excellent and timely.

Way back in the day, I had a set of 6 #1766 oval plates in matte black, and as their number fell, literally, alas, I have only two left. They're very sturdy during normal use, but even so, clumsy kids and tile floors can be hard on dishes. So I recently bought several #1633 "omelet" plates, a very similar oval style in black on green agate. I use the plates almost every day. They're perfect for a bowl of soup and sandwich, coffee mug and breakfast roll, omelets, light meals and long sandwiches. Such a great shape! I am hoping for a nostalgic revival of the original in black matte, to match my black Bennington mugs and bowls, but even so, I love the black on green.

I am so glad I ordered this oval plate! It is a great size for serving items that are longer than a dinner plate, but don't need a full size platter. I will use it for serving things such as bacon, a large fish fillet, sliced bread, an omelette. I like the Elements Blue glaze.

I have several of these plates. They are the best...for panini sandwiches, serving asparagus, serving corn on the cob, serving cheese and crackers for two...and very often I use one as a spoon holder by my stove for long handle utensils while cooking! The plates are indispensable!! Thank you for the design!!

We have a small table, so this shape is ideal for setting a table that has room for the serving bowls in the middle of the table, so I use these for dinner plates, too. But as a soup & sandwich plate, it is ideal... perfect dimensions to hold a bowl, a spoon, and a sandwich.
