I love the original mug...it is minimalist, wab-sabi, zen. The white matte glaze is lovely. The shape is quirky and organic. The handle only allows one finger through so either you must have a strong finger or wrap your hand around the mug, which is a bit hot, so I remedy that with a hot mitt. Unfortunately, my mug tumbled out of my hand and ended up in the cup ICU so I am ordering one in black as the white was OOS. Will practice kintsugi on the cracked mug. It is too beautiful to throw away!

I love this mug! Recently I served tea in it to a friend with MS who has difficulty holding things in her hand who loved how easy it was to hold. She immediately ordered some for herself. Beautiful and useful mug

This is my new favorite mug! It's just great to hold and lovely to look at. One tiny caveat is that the handle gets hot when you microwave the mug, so be careful.

We have some Bennington tankard mugs. Love them but they are too tall to fit under the portafilter on my Ranciliio espresso maker. I was looking for shorter mugs. These fit perfectly. They look too small to hold 12 ounces but they really do. I love the shape of them. Holding them is a bit tricky. Only one finger goes through the handle. You support the cup using the second and third fingers outside and below the handle. The cup gets very hot so it is not comfortable to hold on the bottom. It is not as comfortable to use, overall, as the Tankard mug. We use those for tea. We use the Original mugs exclusively for espresso with frothed milk. Love the mugs aesthetically but they are not as user-friendly as the Tankards.

This is definitely an East coast West coast mug! I owned these mugs in the 1960s and in the mid-1970s moved from the East coast to California. We sold much of our furniture and household goods before we moved including this mugs.
many many times over the years I have regretted that sale. I never imagined that they were still being made, but still thought about them from time to time. Then several weeks ago I decided to look them up and low and behold they are still being made! I immediately ordered them and have fallen in love all over again!
I love the hand feel and the texture. Generally, I like a mug a bit smaller so that the temperature stays hot longer. So I filled my Bennington mug halfway and pour again.
So glad I refound these treasured throwbacks. They couldn't be more perfect.
By the way, I have an average size hand and looping my middle finger through the handle while cupping the rest of the mug feels just perfect!

I liked th3 design of the original mug, so I picked it for my free gift. I wanted another one, so I ordered one too, but the orders only offered black and white, and the free one was blue agate. My husband immediately took the blue one and loved it. My daughter came over and fell in love at first sight with the black one. So I thought I was going to have to live 2ith mismatched colors, but ended up losing both to dear family members. Everyone likes the cup design, but taste in colors differs

We love this mug so much that there are hardly even words to convey its perfection. We own a set of four in white and every time we have company they comment on how great the design is. We have given it for birthday, Christmas & wedding gifts, all to great review. Honestly this is the perfect mug and we can not recommend it highly enough.
